About
One specialist. No account managers.
I am Osama, and The AEO Guy is me. I work with a small number of businesses at a time and I do the work myself, start to finish.
Muhammad Osama Ahmed
AEO and GEO Specialist
Three years in search, across Answer Engine Optimization, Generative Engine Optimization, and technical, on page and off page SEO. I have ranked sites in competitive US markets, and driven measurable AI traffic for a client through AEO and GEO work, including visibility inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
Along the way: several hundred pages optimized, over a thousand content pieces planned, and a spell leading a team of twelve at CIS across sixteen sites. The AEO Guy exists because I would rather do the work than manage people doing it.
- 3 years in search, AEO, GEO and SEO
- Focused on US markets
- Led 12 executives across 16 sites at CIS
Background
I came to this from search,
and watched it change.
Search engine optimization used to be simple to describe. Get a page to rank, earn the click, hand the visitor to the business. Everything about how sites were built, measured and sold assumed a search result was a list of links, and that the list was the product.
That assumption broke. Someone asking ChatGPT which accountant to use in Dallas does not get ten links. They get one answer with two or three names in it. Either the model knows your business well enough to say the name out loud, or you were never in the conversation. There is no page two to climb.
Answer Engine Optimization is the work of becoming one of those names. It borrows heavily from technical SEO, but the goal is different. You are not competing for a position. You are trying to be the source a model reaches for when it needs to be specific and correct.
How I work
Four things I hold to.
These are not slogans. They are the reasons engagements either go well or quietly stop being worth the money you are paying for them.
You talk to the person doing the work
There is no delivery team behind me, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation. I have run the agency model, leading twelve people across sixteen accounts. When you ask why something changed here, the answer comes from whoever changed it.
Evidence before opinions
Every engagement opens by asking the assistants themselves. I run the questions your buyers actually type, record what comes back, and work from that transcript rather than from what the industry says should be true this quarter.
Assets you own, not ones you rent
Work goes into your site, your schema, your listings and your entity footprint. If we stop working together, none of it switches off. That rules out a few tactics that look fast on a chart and leave nothing behind.
Monthly proof, not monthly reporting
The check-in is a short list of prompts, the answers they returned last month, and the answers they return now. If your name did not move, that is exactly what the update says.
Boundaries
Things I will turn down.
- Twelve month lock-ins.
- Engagements run month to month after the initial audit. If the work stops earning its keep, you should be able to stop paying for it.
- Bought links and PBNs.
- They carry real risk to your domain, and answer engines have turned out to be unusually good at discounting them anyway.
- Bulk generated content.
- Publishing forty thin pages a month teaches a model that your site is not worth quoting. It is the fastest way to undo everything else we do.
- Dashboards that measure nothing.
- Impressions and rankings do not tell you whether an assistant said your name. If a metric cannot change a decision, it does not go in the report.
- Guaranteed placement.
- Nobody controls what a model outputs. Anyone promising you a fixed position inside AI answers is selling something they have no mechanism to deliver.
Coverage
Remote, and focused
on the US.
All of my work is remote and always has been. I work remotely from Karachi, Pakistan, with US clients. Answer engine work does not require anyone to be in the room.
Most of my US work sits in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami and Seattle. That is where I have run enough prompt testing to know what the assistants already believe about those markets. It is a tested focus rather than a local presence, and I would rather say that plainly.
Working remotely from outside the US is also why the pricing on this site looks the way it does. No office, no team, no sales layer. You are paying for the work and nothing sitting on top of it.
Want to know what AI says
about you today?
Send me what you sell and where. I will run the prompts and send back what the assistants currently say.
