AEO Services

Answer Engine Optimization services for businesses that want to be named inside AI answers, not just ranked below them. I test what the assistants say about your category today, fix what stops them naming you, and re-check every month.

What are AEO services?

AEO services are the work of structuring a business's content, entity data and technical signals so AI assistants can verify the business and name it inside a generated answer. A typical AEO service covers four things: testing which prompts your buyers actually use, fixing the crawler and rendering issues that stop assistants reading your site, building structured data and entity consistency so the business can be verified, and rewriting key pages so the answer sits in the first sentence where a model can extract it.

The measurable outcome is a mention, not a click. That is the main way answer engine optimization differs from search engine optimization, and it changes what a good deliverable looks like.

Search demand for AEO grew ten times in two years.

In September 2024, this set of AEO keywords drew 4,639 US searches a month. By August 2026 the same set drew 47,516. That is 10.2 times growth, and it more than doubled in the four months to August alone.

Be careful what that number means. It measures demand for these search terms, which is largely people researching the discipline. It is not a measurement of how often buyers use AI assistants, and anyone presenting it that way is stretching it.

What it does show is that the field is being taken seriously at a rate that did not exist eighteen months ago, and that the terms are still soft enough to compete on. That window closes as larger agencies commit budget.

Which engines these services cover.

An answer engine returns a written answer with two or three businesses named in it, rather than ten links to choose between. Every engagement here tests across four, because they disagree with each other more than people expect.

ChatGPT

The largest by usage. Reaches your site two ways: a slow-moving training picture, and live retrieval during a conversation.

Perplexity

Cites its sources openly, which makes it the most useful engine for diagnosing where an answer actually came from.

Google AI Overviews

Sits above the organic results and absorbs the click. Leans heavily on the same local and structured signals classic SEO feeds.

Gemini

Draws on Google's index like AI Overviews does. Google-Extended governs training and grounding for the Gemini apps, not inclusion in Search or in AI Overviews.

Also monitored on request: Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Apple's assistant surfaces.

AEO is part of SEO, not a replacement for it.

Answer Engine Optimization is a specialization within search engine optimization, not a rival discipline. It runs on the same foundations: crawlability, page speed, clean markup, structured data, consistent listings and factually clear content. Anyone selling AEO as a separate budget line that competes with your SEO is selling you a rebrand.

What AEO adds is emphasis. SEO rewards depth and topical coverage across many pages. AEO rewards precision on a small number of facts a model has to resolve before it can name you.

What SEO optimizes for

A position in a ranked list of links. Success is a click, and the visitor lands on your page to decide.

What AEO optimizes for

A mention inside a generated paragraph. Success is often no click at all, because the answer was the destination.

This is why nothing in this work trades a Google ranking for an AI citation. In practice the technical half improves both at once. If you already have an agency doing solid technical SEO, AEO usually sits alongside it rather than replacing it, and I will tell you so during the audit.

Also covers: GEO. Generative Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization describe the same work from two angles, so it is not priced separately here.

How to optimize for AEO, in five steps.

This is the sequence every engagement follows. It is ordered deliberately, because the first two steps can move within days and the last three compound over months.

  1. 01

Test what the assistants already say

25 questions across four engines in the audit, 40 in the monthly program, all of them questions your buyers actually type, run from clean sessions and recorded with the date. You get the transcripts, not a score out of ten. Everything after this is decided by what came back, not by industry assumption.

  2. 02

    Fix crawler access and rendering

Robots.txt, the AI user agents, firewall and rate limit rules, and whether your content survives without JavaScript. This is the fastest moving part of the work because live retrieval reads your page in the moment. It is also broken on more than half the sites I check.

  3. 03

    Build one verifiable entity

One business name, one description, one set of facts, identical everywhere a model might check. Then structured data that matches: Organization or LocalBusiness filled in properly, Service, FAQ, and a sameAs array pointing at your verified profiles. Models omit businesses they cannot confidently resolve.

  4. 04

Rewrite key pages so they can be quoted

The complete answer goes in the first sentence of each section, because models extract passages rather than pages. Facts get stated as facts instead of implied by a logo strip. Numbers, prices and named entities go in text, never inside an image a crawler cannot read.

  5. 05

    Re-test on the same schedule

Same prompts, same engines, thirty days later. Answers vary between runs, so a single check is noise and a repeated set is evidence. If your name did not move, the monthly update says exactly that.

What these AEO services include.

Prompt audit and gap map
Real buyer questions across four engines, with a map of which name a competitor, which name nobody, and which return something wrong about you.
Crawler access and rendering
Robots.txt configured for every major AI user agent, firewall rules checked, and confirmation that your content is readable without JavaScript.
Entity foundation
Name, description and facts made consistent across your site, your profiles and every directory a model is likely to check.
Structured data
Organization, Service, FAQ and Person schema, filled in properly rather than minimally, validated, and matched to what is actually visible on the page.
sameAs and citation building
Your verified profiles connected explicitly, so a model can confirm you are one business rather than several uncertain ones.
Answer-first content
Two pages a month written to be extracted whole, with the answer leading and the reasoning following. Included on AEO and SEO and on Website and Full Optimization.
Technical SEO
Crawl, speed, internal linking and indexation, on AEO and SEO and on Website and Full Optimization. The same foundation both search and answer engines depend on.
Monthly proof
A written update containing the prompts, last month's answers and this month's. Not a dashboard, and not a slide with impressions on it.

Published prices. No discovery call required.

Most AEO agencies quote after a call. The two largest players in this market publish nothing at all, and the one that does starts at $6,950 a month. These are the numbers here, and they are the same for everyone.

AEO Audit

$49 one time

25 buyer questions across four engines, the real transcripts, a crawler and schema review, and a prioritized fix list. Credited in full against your first month if you go ahead.

Website and Full Optimization

$400 first month, then $200

No site yet, or one that cannot be fixed. A multi page site built server rendered with schema, canonicals, robots.txt and sitemap configured at build. Yours outright, no license and no hosting tie.

See everything each plan includes

This site was built the same way, on the same stack, with the same schema and the same publishing rules. If you want to see what the website plan produces before you buy it, you are already looking at it.

What these services will not do.

Guarantee a position in AI answers.
Nobody controls what a model outputs, and answers vary between runs of the same prompt. Anyone quoting a fixed position has no mechanism to deliver it.
Buy links or use PBNs.
Real risk to your domain, and answer engines have turned out to be good at discounting them regardless. Earned coverage is different and I do that.
Publish content in bulk.
Two pages a month, written properly. Forty thin pages teaches a model your site is not worth quoting, which undoes everything else.
Lock you into a year.
Month to month after the audit. If the work stops earning its keep, you should be able to stop paying for it.
Send you a dashboard instead of proof.
Impressions and rankings do not tell you whether an assistant said your name. If a metric cannot change a decision, it is not in the update.

Who these AEO services are for.

Good fit

Established businesses with real customers and a site worth building on. Single location service businesses, professional practices, small B2B companies. Anyone whose buyers ask an assistant a question with a name in the answer. Smaller markets and underserved categories usually move fastest, because so few competitors have done any of this work.

Not a fit

Pre-launch businesses with nothing to optimize yet. Anyone wanting guaranteed placement. Enterprises needing a team, a procurement process and a named account manager, since this is one person by design. Multi location rollouts beyond three locations need a scoped quote rather than a plan.

One specialist, not an agency.

The AEO Guy is Muhammad Osama Ahmed. Three years in search across answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization, and technical, on page and off page SEO, with work delivered in competitive US markets. No delivery team, no junior handoff, no reporting layer. When you ask why something changed, the answer comes from whoever changed it.

More about how I work

AEO services, answered.

What are AEO services, exactly?

AEO services structure a business's content, entity data and technical signals so AI assistants can verify the business and name it inside a generated answer. A full service covers prompt testing, crawler access, structured data, entity consistency and answer-first content rewriting, with monthly re-testing to measure whether anything moved.

How much do AEO services cost?

Here, $49 for the audit and $200 per month for the ongoing program, with no minimum term. Across the wider market the range is wide. Independent consultants generally sit in the hundreds per month, while agencies commonly start in the thousands, with one published example at $6,950 per month.

Is AEO part of SEO or separate from it?

AEO is a specialization within SEO, not a replacement. It runs on the same foundations of crawlability, structured data, clean markup and consistent listings, and adds emphasis on entity clarity and extractable content structure. Nothing in the work trades a Google ranking for an AI citation.

What is the difference between AEO and GEO services?

None worth paying twice for. Answer Engine Optimization focuses on being the source an engine cites, Generative Engine Optimization on how a model selects sources while composing an answer. The tactics overlap almost entirely, which is why both are included at one price here rather than sold as separate tiers.

How long do AEO services take to work?

Anything relying on live retrieval can shift within days, because the assistant reads your page at the moment it answers. Anything relying on the model's internal picture of your business moves over three to six months, since it depends on new references accumulating across the web. Anyone quoting a faster number for the second half is guessing.

Can you guarantee my business appears in ChatGPT?

No, and neither can anyone else. Model outputs vary between runs of the same prompt and no provider offers placement controls. What can be guaranteed is the work: the audit, the fixes, the schema, and a monthly transcript showing exactly what changed and what did not.

Do I need AEO services if I already rank well on Google?

Often yes, and that gap is common enough to be its own diagnosis. Ranking first wins a link in a list. An AI answer names two or three businesses in a paragraph that frequently gets no click at all. Sites that rank well and are absent from AI answers usually have a crawler, rendering or entity problem rather than a content one.

Which AI platforms do these AEO services cover?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews are tested in every cycle. Microsoft Copilot, Claude and Apple's assistant surfaces are monitored on request. Testing across four rather than one matters because the engines disagree with each other more than most people expect.

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes, and that is most of the work. Pricing here starts at $200 per month specifically so a single location business can afford this properly rather than in a watered down version. Smaller markets often move faster than large ones, because so few competitors have started.

What do I actually receive each month?

A written update containing the prompt list, the answers those prompts returned last month, the answers they return now, and what was changed on your site in between. If your visibility did not move, the update says so directly.

Can you build me a website as well?

Yes, as an add-on at $400 for the first month and $200 monthly after. The site is built server rendered so crawlers see everything, with schema, canonicals, robots.txt and sitemap configured at build rather than retrofitted. This site was built the same way.

How do I get started with AEO services?

Start with the $49 audit. Send your business, your market and one question your buyers ask, and you get back the transcripts within three business days. If the gaps are worth closing, the fee comes off your first month. If they are not, you keep the report either way.

Find out what AI says about you today.
